Each Ski Challenge Race

The Ski Area pacesetter takes his or her run(s) through each course to establish the "par-time". Rules allow the pacesetter to make as many runs as needed to match their pacesetting handicap. Remember, the goal is consistency across leagues.  If a pacesetter has a major problem in the course which will affect his consistency, then we will have the pacesetter run again.

The pacesetter's time in each course is divided by his/her handicap to get the par time for each course. Every Ski Challenge racer is measured against the "par-time", or theoretical time of the National Pacesetter. Your time is divided by the par-time to determine your handicap or percentage of that race. You do NOT receive a permanent handicap.
