20.  How will the FIS rules for ski radius affect Ski Challenge?

20.  How will the FIS rules for ski radius affect Ski Challenge?

They won’t! When the new rules for FIS skis take effect next season, making the skis longer and lengthening the turn radii, it will not affect Ski Challenge rules or course setting. It may make it a little bit harder for those looking for suitable World Cup level skis to use in our courses (I use women’s WC skis now), but that will be the only issue. A number of ski reps have assured me that their companies will continue to make race skis for Club Racers like us. In some cases they may add to their lines to fill the gap between Recreational Racing skis and World Cup skis. Now and for the foreseeable future the SC equipment rules will remain the same, “run what ya brung”!
