WMSUNP ~ Wild
Mountain Sunday PM ~ All Age
Wild Mountain Sunday PM is an all-age league for
ages 4 and over. Course Inspection is at 4 pm with the race starting
at 4:30 pm. The race usually takes an hour and a 1/2. Awards take
place about 15 minutes after the race in the Wild Mountain bar and
restaurant area. This league consists of a maximum of 14 teams. Teams
must have at least 6 racers with 10 as the maximum.
As an all age league, teams can consist of just
adults, just kids or mixed kids and adults. A participant under 18
years of age needs a parent or guardian present to sign a liability
release form. Special care will be taken if a "younger/smaller" child
is racing. We will allow that child to race without an adult racing
next to him or her on the other course. All teams on this night will
be ranked together for team scoring. For Fastest, Fast, and Most
Improved awards, kids up to 17 will be kept separate from adults.
For Championships, mixed teams of adults and kids will be ranked in
Division 1 through 8. Kid only teams will participate in the
"Kids' Race" at the Championships.
This league is designed for all
abilities of racers whether the participant is a veteran racer or
wants to try it for the first time. If a child (or parent) is
not ready to start on the ramp, they are allowed to start below.
The Ski Challenge will have a staff members at the top of the ramp
helping the kids get situated. The first four weeks races will
be held on "Express Way". Races will move to "Wild" for the last
three weeks.
Guest racers are invited to try it out
before signing up. If you or your child decides to sign up, the guest fee
goes toward the league fee. The guest fee is $15. You may
only guest race in one race per league.
Snowboarders are welcome to
participate. They will get a 10-point handicap adjustment and will
have to race the entire seven week season on their snowboard.
Kids will need a parent or guardian to
sign liability release forms and we encourage parents to stay during
the entire race, as The Ski Challenge is not responsible for getting
the kids to the race or awards on time.
