Adaptive Recreation &
Learning Exchange
Volunteer Ski & Snowboard Instructors
are needed to teach individuals with developmental disabilities how
to ski or snowboard. Here is a little overview of what we are
looking for...
Adaptive Recreation & Learning Exchange (AR&LE) is looking for 45 -
50 volunteers to teach individuals with developmental disabilities
how to ski or snowboard at Hyland Hills in Bloomington. If you are
an intermediate to advanced skier or snowboarder we will train you
to teach skiing or snowboarding to an individual with a
developmental disability.
2008
will be the 18th year of providing ski lessons and 10th year of
providing snowboard lessons to people with developmental
disabilities at Hyland Hills. The purpose of the downhill ski and
snowboard program is to provide quality instruction to individuals
with developmental disabilities, like metal retardation, autism,
attention deficit disorder, down syndrome and learning disabilities.
Our program serves 40 - 45 students of various ages and ability
levels each year. Without volunteers our program would not be
possible or the huge success that it is!

The
dates of the 2008 program are: Thursday's January 17 - February 28
